It means the signal which is processed or generated using the electronic circuits is digital in nature. Smartphones, personal computer, and many communication equipments which we are using in our day to day life are the example of it. Analog Signal vs. Digital Signal An Analog signal is the type of signal whose amplitude can take any value in the given range. Most of the naturally occurring signals are analog in nature. For example, voice signal, temperature, pressure signal are examples of analog signals. Digital signals are the ones whose amplitude can take only finite values in the given range. Virtually all the modern digital circuits which we know are working on two voltage levels. High Voltage level (often referred as Logic High) and Low Voltage level (often referred as logic low). Since the digital circuits are working with only two discrete voltage levels, the digital inputs and outputs can be represented using the binary number system Advantages of Digital System over Analog System: 1. Digital Signal is immune to noise and interference 2. The digital data is easy to store, replicate, and process 3. Digital systems are more accurate and reliable than analog systems 4. Compared to an analog system, digital systems are easily scalable 5. Currently, the digital circuits are much easy to fabricate and it is also possible to fabricate them in larger density Most of the naturally occurring signals are analog in nature. To process them in the digital domain, first,
